After several years of experience in the industry, owner and principal Alex Payne founded Axis Realty Group in 2007 and sought to create a highly professional commercial real estate brokerage that would focus on Denton, Texas, the greater Denton County region and beyond. Over the years, Axis Realty has added productive and knowledgeable agents and other critical staff to effectively manage the growing demands of its clients and the market.

We are well recognized in the Greater Denton marketplace, and our dominant market share is evident by the more than 1 million square feet of commercial property we represent. The experienced members of our firm have handled hundreds of commercial transactions totaling well over $100 Million in value.

As the founding Principal of Axis Realty Group in 2007, Alex has 20 years real estate experience specializing in tenant representation, project leasing, building sales and investment properties. Mr. Payne represents owners, users and tenants of all commercial property types throughout Denton County and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Alex is a highly motivated, results-driven professional and prides himself on maintaining the highest ethical standards when working with his clients and other brokerage professionals. Having spent much of his career specializing in a smaller market area such as Denton, he has had the privilege of working on a wide range of transaction types. His experience ranges from selling large tracts of land for development, assemblage of urban infill sites for multi-family development, site-selection for corporate offices and manufacturing facilities to selling shopping centers or other income properties for investment groups. Alex has built Axis Realty Group to become widely recognized as leader in industrial, office, medical and retail project leasing throughout Denton County and enjoys the process of working on projects from initial site selection, to design and construction phase, through lease up and management and to eventual sale.

Education/ Professional Recognition

Alex received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. Alex has focused on his business in addition to becoming an active member in the community. Much of his time is spent coaching his children's sports but he is a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS, The Chamber of Commerce in Denton and Argyle, Denton Economic Development Partnership, The Urban Land Institute, Class of 2004-2005 Leadership Denton. He serves/has served on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Health Services of North Texas, Denton Community Theatre, Downtown Development Task Force, Denton Zoning Board of Adjustment, Texas Filmmakers (Thin Line Film Festival), and Argyle Chamber of Commerce. Alex lives in Argyle with his wife Amanda and four children, Ethan, Emerson, Evan and Victoria.

Brad's passion for real estate was first kindled as an investor. As he became exposed to various types of real estate over the years, he has focused his attention on commercial real estate. Prior to accepting a role at Axis Realty Group, Brad spent seven years as Senior Vice President at First State Bank. In that capacity, Brad focused on helping clients acquire and build commercial real estate properties in the Denton area. He was a valued advisor to his clients because of his personal background in real estate. His experience underwriting and financing commercial real estate transactions enables him to professionally guide his clients through underwriting real estate and closing complex transactions.

Brad also has a strong background in construction and property management. His background overseeing construction projects, provides him with the ability to assist his real estate clients through finish out and construction projects. He understands what it takes to own and maintain real estate and enjoys sharing his expertise with his clients.

Brad grew up in Krum, where he graduated high school in 1995. He earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in marketing and a master's degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas. He currently lives in Krum with his wife, Danielle, and three children - Dallin, Blake and Kali. He serves as a trustee of the Krum Independent School District and is a graduate of the 2006 class of Leadership Denton. In addition to spending time with family, he enjoys traveling and playing sports.

Originally from a small East Texas town, Chase has called Denton home since 2008. He attended the University of North Texas from 2010 – 2014, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management. After two years in the Logistics industry, he was recruited by Axis Realty Group, joining the team in 2016. Chase enjoys meeting new people and serving the various businesses of Denton and surrounding counties.

In 2008, Drell joined Axis Realty Group to help the company further their position as an expert in Medical Real Estate Consulting. Before entering the real estate business, Drell spent many successful years as a business owner in a variety of areas.

Drell's varied business experiences give him the advantage of looking at the market from numerous points of view. After a two year tour of duty in the U. S. Army, Drell obtain a BBA degree from Ohio University with a major in Economics. Upon graduation Drell took a position with Pittsburgh National Bank. This included various management positions in Commercial Loans, Trust and Retail Divisions.

In 1971, Drell took the position of CFO of a privately owned Millwork, Glass and Paint Distributor in Wheeling, West Virginia. Two years later he purchased the business and grew it from a $2 million to a $100 million business.

During these years Drell has served on various boards, Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, Wheeling Country Club, Cleveland Federal Reserve Board, Narthex, Inc.,West Virginia LPGA Classic, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

After retiring to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in 1995, Drell became a Registered Financial Advisor, Financial Planner holding a Series 6 and 7 broker's license.

Sharla joined Axis Realty Group in April 2018 to provide executive support and marketing expertise. She brings over 21 years of commercial real estate experience where she has pioneered process design, construction, implementation and management in various roles including marketing, brokerage, research, acquisitions and administration.

Prior to joining Axis, Sharla provided virtual marketing and creative services to clients from many different industries. Before that, her experience traversed administrative and marketing roles with global and regional commercial real estate companies including CRT Properties, Inc., Cawley Partners, Jones Lang LaSalle, Holt Lunsford Commercial, Cushman & Wakefield, and Encore Enterprises.

Sharla is responsible for team support and administration, marketing and promotional materials, presentations, website maintenance, event coordination and special projects. Her talents extend across a wide range of experience in different aspects of marketing, event planning, design and project coordination.
